Averie is 11 Weeks!
November 5 - Well Averie is 11 weeks old today and that means that next Monday is my first day back to work...booooo. I have so much enjoyed all the time that I have spent with my daughter at home. I was not sure if I would enjoy being home this entire time because I am such a busy person and enjoy my career and being around people so much, but I must say this was such a wonderful time for me. Even on her rough days, I just enjoyed being there for her and trying to make her happy.
Averie went on her first trip to Milwaukee. My mom and I went to visit Arlene and Dick in Milwaukee. She did really well.
Averie is really doing great. If people say that babies don't have personalities at this age, they are completely wrong. This little girl has a personality and she knows it! I think she is going to be a lot like her mommy and needs a lot of action going on. She really likes doing stuff and moving around.
We just had a photo shoot today with M Photography today so I cannot wait to see those pictures once she has them done. The shoot was so much fun and Averie was so tired when the photo shoot was over. She did such a great job for two hours taking pictures. I know Em got some great photos. What a great photographer to work with though. I would recommend her to anyone. She comes to your house and works with your lifestyle....I love it!

I cannot believe how fast and how slow the time has gone. It is so hard to believe that two months has gone by, but I am so happy that my time off with her has not gone by too fast. My first day back to work will be November 12. A few tears have already been shed because of this. :-(
I have been having so much fun spending the days with Averie. We have been staying busy. I have taken her to a couple meetings, we have gone shopping, we have visited lots of people and much much more. We take a walk almost every day with Milo. By the time 4 pm rolls around we are very excited for daddy to come home.
Averie has her special time with Justin when he gets home. Usually I use this time to finish up stuff around the house done that I didn't get done, or I finish getting dinner ready. About every other day we give Averie a bath right before bed. The entire family enjoys bath time including Milo! We all are in the bathroom together during bath time. She really does love taking a bath, but not so happy afterwards. We think it is because she is cold. We get her ready for bed and then Justin or I will feed her and then put her to bed. That calms her down a lot.

7 Weeks
October 7, 2012 - This past week we went to Madison with Justin while he was there taking a class for work at the Fluno Center. Averie and I walked around on State Street and near the Capitol every day. It was a lot of fun. She was a great traveler and did great being away from her home.
One day while we were playing around in the hotel room, I was able to capture a great photo of her smiling. She has been smiling a lot more lately and following and imitating the faces that Justin and I make towards her.
Averie is still doing really well. She wakes up once between 1 and 2 am and then once again early in the morning between 5 and 6 am. She is still eating great. She weighed in at 10 lbs 11 oz on this past Thursday. She is just so much fun. We have taken her out to eat a few times as well and she is just so good. Her neck is continuing to get really strong. She can hold her head up very well.
Justin and I are both doing great as well...if anyone cares! :-) I got the go ahead from my doctor that I can start running again and doing more strenuous activity, so Justin and I are going to start going to the Y again this coming week. I got five more weeks off of work and want to get back into somewhat of a workout routine. I miss running...:-( I am excited to start working out again.
Milo is doing well too. He spent four days at Grandma and Grandpa's house while we were in Madison. My mom just had surgery again, so I think they both enjoyed each other while my mom was laid up.

Five Weeks
September 26, 2012 - Time sure does slip away from me. I have been meaning to post something, but something happens when I think about posting and then in the evening I never want to post on here because when Justin comes home we like to spend time together with all three of us! We have so much fun.
Things have been going really well. We have had some crazy days though too! There have been a couple days recently where nothing will make her happy besides me nursing her like every hour. We just keep calling thee growth spurts. I have no idea if that is really what it is, but I will go with it!
Averie is 5 weeks old now. She was one month on September 20. Oh my gosh how time is starting to really go by fast. The first three weeks went by slow and I was loving it. Now time is going by too fast and I don't like that. I am going to be going back to work before we know it. :-( I am still breastfeeding her and that is still going great.
Pretty much from the beginning I was only waking up with her once in the middle of the night to feed her and then between 5 & 6 am. These last few days though she is sleeping until around 4 am and then I will feed her and she is out again until 7 am approximately. We have been giving her a bath every other night and I will honestly say that she sleeps much better on the nights we give her a bath. Since you don't have to wash a baby every day, even just soaking her in the warm water will do. We will probably start doing that every night soon when the time allows for it.
We have been having fun though. Each day is something new. After her 7 am feeding, I will usually take a shower and put her in the bouncy seat with the chair on vibrate and the fan and shower going she pretty much falls asleep while I shower. This usually lasts long enough for me to get ready for the day. Averie, Milo and I try to go for a walk every morning. This has been fun. A great way to get out of the house and to get some exercise. We do tummy time every day. She has really been able to hold her neck since birth, but she is picking up it while on her tummy and turning her head to the other side! She will do tummy time on the Boppy Pillow and she holds her head up from that so well.
I usually try to get some pictures every day to send to daddy. I love all her little outfits. Usually that is what our afternoon looks like...taking pictures and hanging out. If I am making dinner that evening, I will usually put her in her swing in the kitchen while I make dinner because we have that in our dining area. She likes that most of the time. She is really starting to look around A LOT more and can see the birds flying around above her and that really interests her. This usually gives me enough time to get something ready for dinner or do some type of house work or whatever.
Daddy usually is home around 4:30 pm and she has her daddy time. She just loves her daddy! She has him wrapped around her little finger! She smiles for him all the time! Between 5 pm and 7 pm we eat and spend time together. We will give her a bath around 7:30 pm and feed her right after and she is usually out no later than 8:30 pm most of the time I would say depending on how everything falls. She loves taking baths. The after part is not so much fun because she gets so cold so fast, but overall bath time is really fun for the entire family. Milo even sits in the bathroom while we bathe her.
Averie also was baptized on September 23. She was such a good girl during the entire church service. She had a rough day the day before so she pretty much slept through the entire service.
Oh one more thing that I discovered is the sound of a vacuum. When she really is fussy and nothing will help her, I go to YouTube on my phone and play this video that has 8 hours of vacuum sounds. That really helps and usually puts her to sleep for a little while. Then I usually vacuum the house when that is on. It is amazing how much they love the white noise. We also have a coupe sound machines for her too that she uses for different things. We play the ocean at night next to her crib with a different sound machine and then we also have a bear that is portable so we take it with us when we go to the store or for a ride in the car. She loves that as well. But the iPhone is so handy to use as well. I actually downloaded an app to my phone that plays all different white noises. It is called White Noise.

Three Weeks & One Year Anniversary
September 10, 2012 - Averie is doing so well! We had her two week weigh in last Tuesday and she was 9 pounds! Today we went to the mommy and me class and she was 9 pounds 8.9 ounces. She is really packing on the pounds so I would say that the breastfeeding is going really well for us.
Today is also our one year anniversary. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband. I could not be happier!
